The western boundary of the Spinney site is formed by the East Coast Mainline. This image highlights clearly some of the concerns expressed about the proximity of a play space to the high speed rail line. The existing wire fence, which can be seen in the lower right hand corner of the picture, is easily penetratable. Shortly before this image was captured Network Rail, the people that currently manage Britains railways, have agreed to install a more substantial barrier at their own expense to reduce the risk of vistors to the site gaining access to the railway line.
