Catherine (?) Born 1848

am trying to trace the family and details of Catherine (surname unknown)who was born at Castle Bytham in 1848.

There must be a record of her birth somewhere and there couldn't have been all that many babies born at Castle Bytham in 1848 named Catherine.

Catherine married Edward Jarvis (a Londoner) before 1873 and she died shortly after the first world war started.

Edward and Catherine Jarvis were my great grandparents. They had several children and grandchildren.

It's possible that Catherine's surname may have been Goodall.

Any information would be very much appreciated.

Our family name is Batham with descendents from the Dudley area near Birmingham. My guess is that Batham is a curruption of Bytham. Does any one have any comments on this?

My family have been associated with Castle Bytham over several generation and so decided to visit this April. I was informed of a Book published by the village "The History of Castle Bytham". My family, the Wings are mentioned in it. Unfortunately I am unable to get a copy but if anyone is interested on selling there copy I would be very interested. I enjoyed my visit tremendously and found all people I met there to be so helpful. Thank you.

I think that it is great that I can finally find out the bus times without having to walk all the way to the cross roads. Thank you guys, the site is looking great! Although I think a few pictures of the New Inn are needed. Just a thought.

I am researching my ancestors one of whom was Samuel Wilkinson, who was born in Castle Bytham in 1795/96. He married Sarah Scotney in Stamford in 1819. They later moved to Sleaford. I have been unable to trace Samuel's family prior to his birth, and I would appreciate any help/information that anyone can give to me.

thank you

I'm trying to find out more about an ancestor of mine called George Hairs (aka Hare, Eyre, Ayers, etc) who married a Mary Fowler in Castle Bytham on 23 Nov 1787. They very shortly afterwards resettled in Market Deeping. Details of their descendents can be found at http://www.eayrs.com/genealogy/May05_upload/WC01/WC01_174.HTM but I know very little about George and Mary themselves or where they came from, so any suggestions would be very welcome.
