Nice to find this site, I used to live at the Green Man around 1969 along with my sisters Sarah and Jane and my Mother Ruth, very very happy memories of Little Bytham and spending a great chldhood there along with some great friends.

I once visited Castle Bytham in the 1940 s. I was visiting someone there but cannot remember name, although there was a NAYLOR connection.

What a lovely site, is it still going? The last entry in the guest book seems to be last October, a year ago! Well I had ascestors who were born in Little Bytham. Her name was Ann ? and she married a man from Uffington called William Stimson, they had three children as far as I know, Thomas 1842, William 1845 and Jane 1849 and they all lived in Little Bytham. There may have been more children as William was living with a son John in 1881. William was 67 and John was 21 they were both farm labourers.

If anyone has any info on these people I would be very pleased to hear.

I am searching for information on my g-grandfather, Charles Cox, born in Little Bytham, 1852. He immigrated to Canada where he married my g-grandmother, Elizabeth Isaac born 1856 in Scredington. Any information would be helpful. (P.S. Little Bytham looks like a wonderful place to live.)

We lived at the Old Masons for 6 years 1992 - 1998 before moving to Carlby. We loved Castle Bytham and still miss it but age makes you rethink where you want to live in retirement.

This was my first visit to the CB website. Its excellent and really informative. As the Co editor of our quarterly Carlby Village News it has prompted me to think about organising a website for Carlby village. But as we are so small - 200 houses- no shop or pub it may prove difficult. However,I met Mark Granger today who has kindly offered to help us. This is appreciated.

Meanwhile keep up the good work. The summer fair was a great success as always, and for us it was nice to see many familar faces.
