Although in the dim and distant past the villages were served by a
passenger rail service, that 'luxury' has long since past. Today rail
travel is achieved by first travelling to either Stamford,
Grantham or Peterborough
railway stations.
Rail Information, including timetables and fares can be obtained by

Stamford
The nearest railway station to Little Bytham and Castle Bytham is
located in Stamford. Stamford being a market town located five
or six miles to the south of the two villages. Stamford railway station
is situated on a line served by East Midlands Trains. Central Trains operate a cross country service from Birmingham
in the west through to Norwich and Stanstead Airport in the east.
Stations on the route include Brimingham, Nuneaton and Leicester to
the west, Peterborough, Ely, Norwich, Cambridge and Stanstead Airport
to the east. From Peterborough connections can be made with services
travelling to London provided by National Express East Coast
and First Capital Connect, and
to the north provided exclusively by National Express East Coast.
Stamford station can be found in the centre of the town, near the

Grantham
Alternatively to the north of the two villages Grantham railway station
lies on the East Coast mainline. From Grantham National Express East Coast
trains offer a service to London and the North East. East Midlands Trains also operate from Grantham and provide a cross country
service from Liverpool in the north west through to Cambridge and
Stanstead airport in the south east. Stations on the route include
Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, and Nottingham to the north
west and Peterborough, Ely, Cambridge and Stanstead airport to the
south east.
Grantham station can be found close to the A1 to the west of the town

Peterborough
If you intend to travel to London, or anywhere in the south via London,
from the villages it is often easiest to travel by road to Peterborough
and then use the National Express East Coast
or First Capital Connect service
from there.
Peterborough station can be found in the centre of the town adjacent
