Climbing Station Road we pass three blocks of brick built terraced
housing. These were built to house workers for a small railway yard
at the base of the nearby cutting. The Bourne to Saxby line was built
in 1898 and closed in 1959 (slightly in advance of the main reorganisation
proposed by the 1963 Beeching report).
