MATTERS ARISING ...

Village Hall Grant Application

Letter of support to Mr Hoyles in support of village hall's application for a grant.

Powergen Bill
The final electricity bill for the Brownie hut had yet to be received.

Millenium Spoons
Mrs Salisbury provided the number of 12 year old children in the Parish. The remaining spoons were distributed with four to be sold at £2.35 each.

Dog Fouling
The Chairman had contacted the local authorities in Bourne to seek advice and signs on the dog fouling problem. Additional signs had been provided and the dog warden would visit the problem areas.

Brownie Hut
A working party was still needed to clean out the Brownie Hut.

It was noted that a filing cabinet to store archived Parish Council papers would be useful

PLANNING APPLICATIONS

The following planning applications were approved without comment...

Mr and Mrs Rasell - extension to bungalow
GS Robinson (Builders) - first floor extension to Plot 1, St Medards Close
GS Robinson (Builders) - two storey extension to Plot 3, St Medards Close

The application by Spires Developers for a residential Development, Old Station Yard, was discussed at length. Concerns were expressed concerning the lack of detail for the location and dimensions for each plot and what use the open land to the north could be used for. It was unanimously agreed that the land should be screened and landscaped, and not be allowed for storage, lorry parking or tipping. Comments were passed to the Planning Authorities.

FINANCES

A cheque issued to Premier Trophies on 10 Oct 02 for £148.47 had not been presented and had been deemed lost. The cheque had been stopped and a new one issued.

Audit Review
Moore Stephens in Leicester had asked for clarification on the audit figures.

GENERAL ITEMS

Highways
The footbridge and street light faults previously reported had been fixed. One other street light was reported unserviceable and action would be taken.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS

Brownie Hut
Mrs Murphy updated the meeting on the location of a Play Area for the village, which was being sponsored by a lottery grant and Friends of Little Bytham School. Within the Grimsthorpe Estate, an area which was part of the Brick Yard Plantation, one acre of which was used as the Stone Pit, had been agreed.

Minutes of Meetings
The Minutes of the last meetings had not been copied to The Glenside News. It was agreed that they should be, but only after they had been read and approved at the subsequent Parish Council meeting.

Old Station Yard
It was agreed to write to Mr Quentin Davies to update him on the new proposed development at the Old Station Yard and to thank him again for his support at the 17 May meeting.

The date of the next meeting was arranged for Thursday 5 December 2002 at 19.30
