groups, clubs & societies : south witham archaeological group


The South Witham Archaeological Group (SWAG) meets on the first Tuesday of eveyr other month in South Witham Village Hall at 8pm.


During 2003 there will be speakers on the following topics ...

March 4th : Stone Circles - Tony Welbourne

May 6th : Oral History - Sue Crater

July 1st : Pilgrimage - David Marcombe

September 2nd : Lincolnshire from the Air - David Start

November 4th : Vikings - Chris Robinson


The group has recently researched published a pictorial history, "South Witham Old and New" and is currently working with Sue Crater on a more comprehensive book based on oral history. (Feb 2003)

In the past the group has published "The Knight Templars of South Witham" written by Peter Ball
