Leaders wanted for Cub Scouts added 22/10/06

We are looking for adult volunteers to work with the Cub Scout age range (8 10 ½ years) in Corby Glen. The Cubs (open to both boys and girls) enjoy a thriving programme and we are looking for enthusiastic adults who can carry this on with them in the new-year, as two of the existing Leaders are retiring at Christmas. Without new leaders the pack will not have enough leaders to carry on.

Working with young people brings many rewards, including plenty of challenges and the increased friendship of adults from all walks of life, with similar interests to your own we are sure you will have lots of fun. The time commitment can vary from simply helping a little to attending the 1½ hour meeting each week, helping with planning and camping. It need not be an open-ended commitment - you can volunteer for a set period of time such as a year if you wish. Whatever amount of time you can give to being a Leader, your help will be very welcome.

The Cubs currently meet on Wednesday evening in Corby Glen, however if you are willing to help and can t do a Wednesday we can always move the meeting time even meeting at a weekend fortnightly if that were more appropriate.

If you live or work locally and would like to put something back into your community then please get in touch. Extensive training and support is available to anyone who would like to take up the role. Contact Howard Nelson (nelsonho@globalnet.co.uk ) or call 01572 767500 to find out more.
